BJHS cheerleaders host pancake breakfast Penny Groux, Special to the Record Thursday, December 04, 2003 For the third year, the Bob Jones High School competition cheerleaders will host their annual pancake Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec.6. Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. at the BJHS cafeteria. Pancakes, sausage, milk, juice and coffee will be served continuously until 11:30 a.m.
The event provides a number of children's arts and crafts activities, face-painting, photos with Santa for only $2, door prizes and a bake sale.
"Breakfast with Santa provides a fun atmosphere for families to start off the Christmas season, as well as financial support to these hardworking varsity and JV (junior varsity) girls who will be representing our community," Fay Palmer said.
Palmer is the chairperson for the 2003 Breakfast with Santa event.
"Last year more than 500 people took part in enjoying the morning with Santa and getting into the Christmas spirit," Shannon Pike, coach for the varsity cheerleaders added. "This event is one of our main fund-raising events of the year and it allows the cheerleaders to not only earn money for their trip, but to give something back to the community, which has been so supportive of their efforts," Pike said.
Tickets for the event are available at an advance price of $3 or at the door for $3.50.
Tickets are available at Bruno's, Staples and Kroger in Madison, from 11a.m.-3 p.m. Also, all BJHS competition cheerleaders will be selling tickets, or they can be purchased by contacting Palmer at 830-9749. All proceeds from the event go to help the BJHS competition cheerleaders fund their trip to the UCA National Cheerleading Competition, to be held during February in Orlando, Fla.
